How far is our clinic from Woodridge?

From central Woodridge, the clinic is about 5 miles and about 11 minutes away by car. We ran road-routing estimates from points all over the village, and the drive came out between about 6 minutes, from the southwest edge of the village near IL 53, and about 15 minutes, from the north end. Those times assume no traffic.

Most routes end on IL 53, which becomes Bolingbrook Drive once you’re in Bolingbrook. These are the roads the routing chose from three parts of Woodridge.

From central and west Woodridge

Take 75th Street west to IL 53 and head south. Stay on IL 53 for about 3.8 miles. In Bolingbrook it becomes Bolingbrook Drive, and the clinic is at 148 S Bolingbrook Dr. If you live closer to 83rd Street, take 83rd Street west to IL 53 instead.

From north Woodridge

Take Hobson Road to IL 53, then follow IL 53 south about 4.5 miles into Bolingbrook.

From south and east Woodridge

Take Woodward Avenue to Boughton Road and head west for about 2.4 miles. Turn left onto Bolingbrook Drive (IL 53). The clinic is about a mile down on South Bolingbrook Drive.

Do you have a clinic in Woodridge?

No. Pioneer Physicians has one clinic, in Bolingbrook, and for most of the village it’s a short drive south. If you searched for a walk-in clinic or immediate care in Woodridge, that’s the same kind of visit we offer: you come in today, without an appointment, for an illness or injury that isn’t an emergency.

According to the National Library of Medicine’s MedlinePlus guide, urgent care is the right stop when a problem isn’t life threatening and doesn’t risk a disability, but you’re worried and can’t see your own provider soon enough.

Urgent care near Woodridge for adults and kids

We treat adults and children for everyday illnesses and minor injuries, like sore throats, coughs, fevers, ear and sinus pain, urinary symptoms, rashes, sprains and possible broken bones. Children are seen from infancy through the teen years. Our page on pediatric urgent care for Woodridge families covers children’s visits in more detail.

Many problems can be checked in one visit, because these tests are done in our building:

  • X-ray every day we’re open, with splints and crutches if you need them
  • Rapid strep, flu and COVID tests
  • Urinalysis for urinary symptoms
  • EKG, which records the heart’s electrical activity
  • Blood draws, sent to an outside lab, so those results come back after you leave

What we don’t have

CT and MRI scans aren’t available here. If you need one, it has to be done at a hospital or an imaging center.

When the drive to Bolingbrook makes sense

Make the drive when the problem needs care today but isn’t life threatening. A sore throat that might be strep, a child’s ear pain on a Sunday, an ankle that may need an X-ray, or burning when you urinate are all good reasons to come in.

Cost is part of the choice too. According to MedlinePlus, the same care can cost 2 to 3 times more in an emergency department than in a provider’s office, and your insurance may require a higher copay for the ER.

If you aren’t sure we can take care of the problem, call (630) 914-5373 before you leave home and ask. Our page comparing urgent care and the emergency room has more examples.

School and sports physicals for Woodridge students

We do sports, school and annual physicals, and Illinois students need a school exam at set points. Under Illinois Department of Public Health rules, a child needs a school health exam within one year before starting kindergarten or first grade, and again when entering sixth grade and ninth grade. Preschoolers and students new to Illinois schools need one too. The results go on the state’s Certificate of Child Health Examination form.

Woodridge is split among several school districts. Woodridge School District 68 runs six elementary schools and Thomas Jefferson Junior High. Community High School District 99, which serves Woodridge, runs Downers Grove North and Downers Grove South high schools. The village also lists Naperville 203, Center Cass 66, Lemont-Bromberek 113A and Lemont Township High School District 210 for some addresses. Bring the form your school sends home, and check its due date. Our sports and school physicals page explains the visit.

We do not give childhood vaccinations, so school shots come from your child’s regular doctor or the county health department. For nearly every Woodridge family, that’s DuPage County: of the 34,158 residents counted in the 2020 Census, all but 29 live on the DuPage side. The DuPage County Health Department offers childhood shots at its Wheaton, Westmont and Lombard offices through the Vaccines for Children program, for children who qualify, such as those without insurance or who are Medicaid eligible. Homes in the small Will County part of the village fall under the Will County Health Department.

Other services at the Bolingbrook clinic

Sick visits are only part of what we do. If you drive for work, DOT physicals are done by a certified medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry, 7 days a week.

STD testing is confidential and covers common STIs. Some results are ready the same day and others come back from an outside lab, and there’s a self-pay option if you’d rather not use insurance.

We also offer primary care, flu shots, allergy testing, asthma treatment, women’s health visits, telehealth visits, medical weight loss, IV hydration therapy and peptide therapy. Each one has its own page under our services.

Insurance and paying for your visit

Plans we take include Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, UnitedHealthcare, Humana and Illinois Medicaid plans (HFS, Meridian, CountyCare, Molina and YouthCare). Plans differ, so call (630) 914-5373 to confirm your specific plan before you come.

The Census Bureau estimates that 7.9 percent of Woodridge residents had no health coverage in its 2020 to 2024 survey. If that’s you, you can still be seen. Self-pay is available, and the cost is the visit plus any tests you need, such as an X-ray or a rapid strep test. Call for current self-pay pricing.
