Is there an urgent care in Lisle?

Not ours. Pioneer Physicians runs a single clinic, and it sits in Bolingbrook, 7.6 miles south of downtown Lisle by car. If you searched for Lisle immediate care or a walk-in clinic near Lisle, you were looking for the same kind of visit we offer, which is same-day care for a sickness or injury that can’t wait for your regular doctor but isn’t an emergency.

Lisle is a village of about 23,400 people, and all of it lies in DuPage County, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2025 population estimates. The whole village sits north of our clinic, and Route 53 runs straight between the two, so the trip has few turns.

How long is the drive from Lisle to Bolingbrook?

About 14 to 15 minutes for most of Lisle, with nearly all of it on Route 53.

From downtown Lisle near Main Street and Burlington Avenue, get onto Lincoln Avenue, which is Illinois Route 53, and head south. Stay on Route 53 for about 7 miles. Once you reach Bolingbrook the highway becomes Bolingbrook Drive, and our clinic is on South Bolingbrook Drive. Mapped door to door, the whole trip is 7.6 miles. The Village of Lisle calls Route 53 its main north and south corridor, so it’s a road most Lisle drivers already know.

From the Green Trails area in south Lisle, the route follows College Road, Wehrli Road and 75th Street over to Route 53, about 7.3 miles and 14 minutes. From Lisle High School on Short Street, it’s about 7.5 miles and 15 minutes. Those are normal driving times, so give yourself extra room at rush hour.

What we treat for Lisle adults and kids

We handle the common illnesses and injuries people bring to urgent care, with X-ray and rapid tests in the building.

  • Sore throat, cough, fever and flu symptoms, with rapid strep, flu and COVID tests
  • Ear pain, sinus pressure and pink eye
  • Burning or frequent urination, checked with a urinalysis during the visit
  • Sprains, strains and possible broken bones, with X-ray, splints and crutches
  • Rashes and mild allergic reactions
  • Asthma flares that aren’t an emergency

Tests, scans and other services

Our on-site X-ray runs every day we’re open. EKGs are done in the clinic too. For blood work, we collect the sample here and an outside lab runs it. We don’t have CT or MRI, so a problem that needs one of those scans means a trip to a hospital or imaging center. Other services include STD testing, DOT physicals, telehealth visits, primary care, allergy testing and women’s health visits.

Pediatric care and school physicals for Lisle students

We see children at every age, infancy through the teen years, for the same kinds of sick and injury visits adults get. Our pediatric urgent care page has more on how kids’ visits work.

Lisle Community Unit School District 202 runs Lisle Elementary, Lisle Junior High and Lisle High School and serves the Lisle community along with parts of Downers Grove. It isn’t the only district inside the village. Downers Grove Grade School District 58 also takes in some Lisle neighborhoods, so check which district your address belongs to. Illinois requires a physical exam before a child starts kindergarten, 6th grade and 9th grade. District 202’s health page says students who haven’t met the health requirements by October 15 can be kept out of school until they do.

We do school and sports physicals at the clinic. Bring the school’s health form and your child’s shot record. We don’t give childhood vaccinations, so any shots your child still needs come from their pediatrician or the DuPage County Health Department, which offers childhood immunizations at its Wheaton, Westmont and Lombard offices. The department’s phone line, 630-682-7400, can tell you current clinic times and which vaccines are available.

Weekend sprains on Lisle trails and fields

Twisted ankles and sore wrists are routine urgent care visits, and X-ray is available on Saturdays and Sundays too. Lisle has a lot of outdoor space, including the 1,700-acre Morton Arboretum on Route 53, and weekend walks and ball games bring their share of falls.

If a joint is swollen and painful but the skin is intact and you can move it, urgent care is a reasonable first stop. We can take an X-ray, fit a splint and send you home on crutches if you need them. A bone pushing through the skin or an injury you can’t move at all belongs in the ER. Our page on sprains and strains explains home care in the first few days.

Insurance plans we take and self-pay

Our accepted plans include Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, UnitedHealthcare and Humana, along with Illinois Medicaid plans through HFS, Meridian, CountyCare, Molina and YouthCare. Networks and benefits vary from one plan to the next, so before you leave Lisle, call (630) 914-5373 to confirm your specific plan. Each carrier is listed on our insurance page.

Uninsured patients from Lisle can pay for the visit themselves. Your self-pay cost is the visit plus whatever tests turn out to be needed, so call for current self-pay pricing. Copays can also differ by setting. MedlinePlus notes that some insurance plans require a higher copayment for emergency department care.
