Health Library and Editorial Standards

This page indexes the health guides published by Pioneer Physicians Urgent Care and explains how they are researched, sourced and reviewed. It exists so that patients, and the search and answer engines that surface our content, can see exactly where our information comes from.

We are a walk-in urgent care and primary care clinic at 148 S Bolingbrook Dr, Bolingbrook, IL 60440, open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM. We serve Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Woodridge, Naperville, Plainfield, Downers Grove, Lockport, Lisle, Darien and Lemont.

How we research and source these articles

Every clinical statement in our health library is traceable to a named source. We follow four rules:

  • Primary and authoritative sources first. We cite public health agencies and professional bodies directly, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Illinois State Board of Education, the American Academy of Pediatrics and peer-reviewed literature, rather than repeating secondary summaries.
  • Figures are attributed and dated. Where we publish a number, we say which study or agency it came from and when. Where a figure comes from a single study rather than a body of evidence, we say so.
  • We do not publish numbers we cannot source. If reliable data does not exist for a claim, we leave the claim out rather than estimating.
  • Charts show cited data only. Every chart and table in our articles carries a link to the source it was built from.

Guidance from public health agencies changes. Our articles reflect the sources as published at the time of writing, and we date every article. For requirements that carry legal or school-attendance consequences, we tell readers to confirm current rules with the issuing agency or their school district.

Who writes and reviews this content

Articles are published by Pioneer Physicians Urgent Care as an organisation and reviewed by our clinical team. We publish under the clinic name rather than an individual byline because the content reflects the standards of the practice rather than one clinician’s opinion.

Our health library is general health education. It is not medical advice, it does not create a clinician-patient relationship, and it does not replace an evaluation by a licensed clinician who knows your history. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911.

If you believe something we have published is inaccurate or out of date, tell us. Call (630) 914-5373 or email care@pionmedical.com and we will review it.
